TCET Admission 2021: Other UG courses

The College has added another UG course to its academic programmes and that is B.Voc. The detailed insights of this programme are given below:

TCET BVoc Admission 2021

Thakur College of Engineering & Technology introduced BVoc in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science in the year 2021. The duration of the course is three years and the total seats offered are 30. The College has not mentioned eligibility, selection and fees-related information for the courses. As soon as any details are revealed they will be updated here. 

TCET PhD Admission 2021

The College also offers PhD in Technology recognised by the University of Mumbai. TCET PhD is offered in three specialisations. The official website lacks eligibility and selection details for PhD programme. As per the non-official sources, the candidate must hold a Master’s degree in a relevant subject to be eligible for TCET admission in PhD and the final selection is based on merit followed by an interview. 

Total Fee: Rs 1.63 lakh (for one academic year 2020-21)

TCET PhD (Technology) is offered in the following specialisations: 

TCET BE/ BTech Admission 2021

TCET BE/ BTech and lateral entry admission start in July. BE/ BTech at Thakur College of Engineering & Technology is a four-year programme offered in 12 specialisations. The College recently introduced new BTech courses under emerging areas like Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. Mentioned below are all important details related to TCET admission to BE/ BTech programme: 

Eligibility Criteria: Candidate should be an India National and passed Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. The candidate must have scored a minimum of 45% aggregate (40% for Backward class categories, EWS, PwD candidates). 

OR 

Candidate should have passed Diploma in Engineering & Technology with at least 45% aggregate (40% for Backward class categories, EWS, PwD candidates).

Selection: MHT-CET/ JEE Main

Total Fee: Rs 6.27 lakh

NOTE: The institute also offers supernumerary seats viz TFWS, J&K quota, GOI quota that are filled by AICTE or DTE. 

TCET Lateral Entry Admission 2021

Candidates can also seek lateral entry admission in BE/ BTech. The eligibility criteria for lateral entry admission is mentioned below:

Total Fee: Rs 4.70 lakh*

Eligibility Criteria: Candidate should be an Indian national with any of the following educational qualification:

Passed Diploma in Engineering & Technology with at least 45% aggregate (40% for Backward class categories, EWS, PwD candidates belonging to Maharashtra) from AICTE or Central/ State approved institution. 

OR

Passed BSc degree from UGC or AIU recognised university with minimum 45% aggregate (40% for Backward class categories, EWS, PwD candidates belonging to Maharashtra). Candidate must have passed Class 12 with Mahematics as a subject. Students should also clear the subject of Engineering Graphics or Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of first-year Engineering programme along with second-year subjects. 

OR

Passed D.Voc in the same or allied sector.

NOTE: The students belonging to the BSc stream will be considered for admission after filling the seats with students belonging to the diploma stream.

TCET ME Admission 2021

At the PG level, TCET offers the ME programme in three specialisations. The duration of TCET ME is two years, spread across four semesters. TCET admission to ME is merit and entrance-based. Candidates have to fulfill th eligibility criteria and the final selection is on the basis of GATE or GPAT score. All the important details related to TCET ME are mentio ed below:

Eligibility Criteria: The candidate must be an Indian National. He/ She should have passed a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field of engineering & Technology or Pharmacy from AICTE or Central/ State government-approved institutions with a minimum of 50% aggregate (45% for Backward class categories, EWS, PwD candidates). 

Selection: qualified or non-qualified score in GATE/ GPAT

Total Fee: Rs 3.25 lakh

NOTE: Sponsored candidates must have a minimum of two years of full-time work experience in a registered firm/ company/ education/ research institute/ any government department/ government autonomous organisation in a relevant field.

TCET Application Process 2021

TCET application process 2021 is most likely to start after the MHT-CET results are declared. Candidates can apply both online or offline for all the UG and PG programmes by following the below-mentioned admission process:

Step 1: Visit the official website of the College and submit the application form via online mode or collect it from the college counter after application fee payment.

Step 2: Attach the attested photocopies of required documents and submit the application form on or before the last date.

Thereafter, the College displays the final merit list on the notice board of the college as well as online.

Documents Required at the time of Admission

• CAP Admission seat allotment letter from DTE (MH) (for CAP students only)
• Class 10 marksheet
• Class 12 mark sheet/ diploma in engineering (all semesters)/ BE or BTech final year mark sheet (for ME candidates)
• MHT-CET/ JEE Main/ GATE scorecard
• Certificate of Indian nationality
• College leaving certificate
• Physical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner
• Domicile certificate (if necessary)
• Migration certificate (in case of a candidate passing qualifying examination from a board other than Maharashtra State Board of Secondary And Higher Secondary Education or University of Mumbai)
• Physically handicapped and reserved category documents (if applicable)
• Gap certificate on stamp paper of Rs 20 duly notarized (This is for the candidates who have passed Class 10/ Class 12 in March 2019 or before and presently not studying in any course or institution)
• Linguistic candidates have to submit an affidavit from minority status on Rs 100 non-judicial stamp paper
• AICTE anti-ragging undertaking by students and parents on Rs 100 non-judicial stamp paper
• Photocopy of adhaar card
