Thiagarajar School of Management (TSM) was established in 1962 by Shri Karumuttu Thiargarajan and is located in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. TSM campus is spread over 17 acres of land and offers a very calm environment to students. The college is affiliated with the Madurai Kamaraj University and has also been accredited A+ by NAAC. The college is recognised as a research center of Algappa University. Further, the Thiagarajar School of Management ranked 82 in the Management category by NIRF 2024.

Thiagarajar School of Management courses are offered to students at PG, PhD, and Certificate levels. The college believes in providing additional skills and learning to the students. It is the best college for placements.

Placements: The highest package was 23 LPA and the lowest was 5 LPA which is good for me. In our batch, there were a total of 450 students out of which around 300 students got placed. About 80% of the students from our course got placed. Many big companies visited the college.

Infrastructure: All facilities available in the hostel were good, and the food served in the mess had good taste. Sports and games were also available. There was good infrastructure and a big ground. In our college, the hostel was very close to the college. Wi-Fi is there in every class. Our campus provides facilities like computer labs, Dell systems, iOS lab, library, canteen, playground, etc.

Faculty: The teaching staff was best with a good attitude. They were the best teachers for my course. Semester exams are somewhat difficult, but if you study nicely, you can score good marks. The course curriculum was relevant. They assigned us project work to make us more efficient for our industry.

One of the best colleges.

Placements: The MBA program is organized by the campus placement cell across four semesters, with many big companies and MNCs visiting our college, like Amazon, Cognizant, Flipkart, etc. The placement packages offered by these companies go up to 20 LPA with a minimum of 12 LPA.

Infrastructure: Our college hostel is quite good and affordable for students with registration done in the 1st semester. The hostel rooms are large in size and suitable for two people, with all necessary facilities provided. We get good food and the best medical facilities in our college. There are also opportunities for sports and many games throughout the year.

Faculty: This course is very good for me because I love it, and my dream is to become a businessman. The teachers are friendly and highly qualified and their teaching methods provide us with an excellent intermediate education.

Placements: As it is a trimester system, students are eligible to sit for placements starting from the 4th semester without any arrears. More than 35 companies visit the college, offering an average salary of ₹4.5 L per annum, with many opportunities in marketing roles.

Infrastructure: The girls' and boys' hostels are kept clean and tidy for our use. We have a maid for laundry, so students need not worry about it. It's a pure vegetarian campus, and the mess, Annapoorna, treats us well with breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, and dinner, all prepared with healthy foods. The boys' hostel is equipped with a lift, and the restrooms have water heaters for our convenience. It's a residential college, and everyone is expected to stay on campus. Hostel Fee: ₹50,000 per year.

Faculty: I chose the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) because the faculty are well-experienced, coming from IITs and IIMs. We follow a trimester pattern in our college, and the faculty train us well, drawing on their corporate experience to help us work in teams and engage with one another. Madurai's best management college.

Placements: From first year of the college, companies offer summer internships for sales and marketing. In the second year, placements process starts. Companies like TCS, HCL, Capgemini, Denver, Tata technologies, Croma, and Xiaomi offer jobs for business development roles. Packages start from 3 lacs and the highest goes up to 18 lacs. In our batch in the third semester, 50% students got placed and remaining 30% got placed in the final semester.

Infrastructure: The college has excellent infrastructure. The building is surrounded by garden in which we have sports ground including cricket and football fields. Recently, Wi-Fi service started in the campus. The computer labs have separate PCs allocated for every student. Library is in the campus having a bunch of books which need to be renewed after 15 days. Hostel is available in the campus having facilities like laundry, food, water, chair, bed, fan, and blankets by the hostel. 24*7 security is provided in the hostel. First aid kits are provided every where for medical conditions.

Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, Ph.D. and PGDM qualified from reputed NITs. Their teaching quality is good, they clear our concepts rather than only focusing on theory. The other college staff is very rude, if any query is found in applications, their behaviour is very arrogant. The course is good having demanding concepts. The professors give projects and presentations. Mid sem exams and class tests are easy but term end exams are hard, they need proper preparation.

Other: Events held are Pongal and cultural night. Campus crowd includes different people from all over Tamil Nadu.

TSM update on 8, April 2023.

Placements: Placement will be started in second year of the programme. Placement cell will continuously approach various companies in various domains throughout the year. College will not provide any recommendation for any placements, it is purely merit, but they will guide you.

Infrastructure: All classrooms are air conditions with Wi-Fi facilities, you can use classroom anytime for study purpose. Main thing is it is residential programme, even though you are from Madurai, you have to stay in the hostel and study, no option for that, library facility is available.

Faculty: Most faculty members are from IIM, IIT with academic and industrial experience. Trimester pattern is followed, yearly you will have three semester, teaching is done through case studies from various successful organisations. Exams will based on the entire trimester teaching learning process.
