The CLAT 2026 counselling process now stands concluded for admission to the PG-level LLM programme.
Counselling registration for TANCET 2026 for admission to MBA and MCA programs has been closed. The round 1 choice filling for the MCA program will begin on Jul 25, 2026, while for the MBA program it will begin on Jul 30, 2026.
The CLAT 2026 counselling process is now over for admission to the five-year Integrated LLB (UG) courses.

Vel Tech Highlights 2025

Vel Tech University in Avadi, Chennai was established in the year 1997. It has been accredited with an A++ grade by NAAC and NBA. It was affiliated with University of Madras, but the affiliation shifted to Anna University. Vel Tech University has been ranked 96 and 86 in the University and Engineering category by NIRF 2024.

Vel Tech University courses at the UG, PG, and PhD levels are offered in various fields. It has several schools such as the School of Law, School of Management, School of Commerce, School of Science & Humanities, etc. The courses include- BTech, BBA, BCom, BSc, MBA, MTech, MA, etc.

Vel Tech has international relations with more than 390 institutions across 30 countries and has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 171+ institutions for various Academic and Research exchange activities. At present, the university offers approximately 50 programmes to students at UG, PG, and PhD levels. Entire review of Vel Tech based on my own opinion.

Placements: I think around 400 out of 1,000 students get placed. Almost all major recruiting companies visit the campus for placements. Students also get good internship opportunities, and foreign education opportunities are offered. I feel the education is good because of the culture and environment, but some students' behavior at Vel Tech is not proper.

Infrastructure: According to me, the infrastructure is not very good because the college still has many old buildings from when it started in the 1990s. However, the management is now improving some parts of the infrastructure. The hostel is not very hygienic. It also has old infrastructure, but renovation work is currently in progress.

Faculty: Faculty and curriculum are good and better than at some other colleges. The exam pattern and the process of conducting exams are very easy to understand. There is no confusion because of their neat and clear pattern.

Other: According to fee structure, students who score above 90 percent in their intermediate examinations usually pay less than Rs. 1 lakh per year for ECE. If the fee for your course is below Rs. 1 lakh per year, this college is a good option. However, the fees at Vel Tech are lower compared to many other colleges.

A good university for students that balances both studies and extracurricular activities.

Placements: Placements are very good at Vel Tech. From the 2nd year onwards, students can do internships. From the 3rd year, campus interviews start. In the last academic year, the highest package was 47 LPA. After joining Vel Tech University, we do not need to worry about placements.

Infrastructure: Vel Tech University offers a good and fresh environment for students. It includes a large central library, smart classrooms, Wi-Fi on campus, and in hostel rooms. The infrastructure of Vel Tech University is under development, but it is very good.

Faculty: Vel Tech University uses the Active Learning Method (ALM). Faculty members are well-trained, and all have achieved doctorates. The teaching quality is very good. The curriculum makes students industry-ready. Vel Tech University follows a 50/50 standard for students.

Other: Vel Tech University is a student-friendly university that organizes many fests for students. All events are conducted by students.

Vel Tech University, the best college in Avadi with NAAC A+ grade and deemed university status.

Placements: I am a student of Vel Tech University. Vel Tech supports students well in placements. The highest package is 47 LPA. Top companies like Amazon recruit from the campus. Around 80–85% of students get placed through the college itself. About 15% of students pursue higher studies. The best course at Vel Tech is CSE.

Infrastructure: The campus looks like a 3-star hotel and provides free Wi-Fi. The hostel fee for a standard 4-in-1 room is Rs. 52,500. Non-vegetarian food is served daily except on Saturdays. There is a big basketball court, 24/7 power backup, ambulance service, 24/7 surveillance cameras, good drinking water, and a gym in the hostel.

Faculty: The college provides very good technical support and labs. Semester exams are very easy, while model exams are slightly difficult. Students do not need extra study sessions in the hostel because everything is explained clearly in the college itself. In the first year, the college provides foundation courses and coding classes.

Other: Lazavas is the biggest event at Vel Tech University.

East or West Vel Tech is the best.

Placements: 100% of students got placements, but we need to do higher studies. It is our choice, or else all students get placed. The lowest package offered is 3 LPA. The highest package offered is 44 LPA. 75% of students got internships in companies like Flipkart, Amazon, TCS, etc., based on students' wishes. Roles like financial manager, financial analyst, and accountant are offered in our college.

Infrastructure: The hostel facility is very good. It offers good food, 24x7 Wi-Fi facility, and a library. In the hostel, there is a ground for outdoor games and a court for games. It also has a gaming club. In the hostel, we have 6 mess facilities. In each mess, we have a capacity of 3,000-5,000 members.

Faculty: Teachers teach like good friends. They taught anytime we needed. They are not all teachers, but they are all good friends. It is very easy to score good marks and CGP credit. 40% is the pass percentage of our campus. Our teachers are qualified to teach students effectively.

Nothing better than Vel Tech University.

Placements: 90% of students are placed, while the others don't pay attention, otherwise 100% worthy placements. 20 LPA and 2 LPA are the highest and lowest packages offered. Infosys, Amazon, Flipkart, Zoho, etc., recruit from campus. 70% of students got internships in banks like Indian Overseas Bank. Skill analysis and many roles are offered in my course.

Infrastructure: College has good Wi-Fi, labs, library, classroom and also a canteen. Food matters for hostelers, food is provided hygienically and also tastes good. There are no issues in the infrastructure and facilities of the university. They do provide sports and give priority to the students who handle both studies and sports.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and have good teaching quality. They do provide training according to the industry. Semester exams will be a little tough to manage, but the faculty members do support and motivate every student, both in their curriculum and career-based.

Other: Vel Tech Lavaza School of Commerce conducts Kalax. These cultural events make us love our entire college life.

College offers great opportunities, training, and internships, but success depends on using them.

Placements: Almost 50 percent of students were placed here remaining chose higher studies. The highest package we got here was 25 to 30 LPA, and the lowest was 4.5 LPA. There are so many top MNCs here recruiting, like Amazon, TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, Infosys, Oracle, and there are also many mid-level companies. Internship is based on how students choose to. The top roles are like full-stack developer, data science, data analyst, and DevOps.

Faculty: Teachers were always very supportive, especially during exam time, helping us stay calm, confident, and focused. They encouraged us to work hard and believe in ourselves. They also supported our innovative ideas, motivated us to think creatively, and guided us to move forward in life to achieve our goals and become successful.

Vel Tech Scholarships 2025

The Institute offers Mahatma Gandhi National Merit Scholarship which is based on a candidate's performance in Class 12 (PCM) and/or their rank in VTUEEE, whichever is higher. The topper in PCM from each state/ union territory is granted a scholarship of 100% in tuition fee. Candidates must secure a minimum aggregate of 60% in PCM in order to be eligible for the rank-based scholarship.
