B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2026
4.6

It is the right place to grow up and become a good engineer.
Placements: As I am studying in the 3rd year, our batch did not get any placements yet. Our seniors have been placed in top companies. We have heard that our seniors 2 of them have got internships in Japan and placed there. We have naan mudhalvan courses each semester and for placements also.
Infrastructure: We have 2 computer labs and each lab contains more than 60 systems. In our college, we have a library and it is very helpful for studying, not only academics but also for preparing gate examinations and for studying general knowledge, aptitude, etc. Classrooms are well-equipped and very spacious. The hostel is very safe for girls and there are many restrictions also. We have a canteen for everyone and there is a separate mess for both boys and girls. There is a medical room and a doctor is present there. I am a day scholar and not a hosteller.
Faculty: Faculty members are very knowledgeable and they are teaching very well. They will explain topics with PowerPoint presentations and weekly slip tests are also conducted. Staff members covered the syllabus in the curriculum correctly and made it easy for us to prepare for exams. The exam pattern is common in Anna University constituent colleges.
Other: I chose CSE because I have an interest in computer science. Now I feel like I have made the right choice. Rules and regulations for our department are strictly followed. Our college doesn't celebrate many events. We only have sports day, college day, and arts day as a whole. There are some small events and extracurricular activities for specific departments.

UCEN: A nice place to study and enjoy the college life.
Placements: Almost all students got placed according to the 12-mark cutoff. Our college offers CSE, ECE, EEE, mechanical, civil, and IT departments. The average package offered is 45 LPA. The internship percentage is low but the placement percentage is high with 65%. It is almost a good package.
Infrastructure: 3 labs are available in each department. There is a 24/ 7 Wi-Fi network in our college. In the canteen, the food quality is the best. The mess is neat. The teaching is good and impressive with projectors and laboratory facilities. This could be well-structured.
Faculty: Professors are very well-educated with doctorate degrees. Semester exams are not very difficult. It purely depends on our knowledge. The pass percentage is 40%. The exam fee is low. This is due to the number of papers in each semester. This will be good and experienced.
Other: Computer science and engineering has a very well scope. All scholarships are applicable on our campus. Culturals and symposiums are also held annually.

B.Tech. in Information Technology - Batch of 2024

Honest review about my college.
Placements: I was part of the 2024 batch, with a total of around 360 students from all streams; among them, only 100 students got placed. The highest package was 5 LPA, the lowest package was 1 LPA, and the average package was 3 LPA. Most of the recruiting companies are local from Nagercoil, with some well-known companies like TCS, Accenture, and AdminDroid also participating. Internships are not available; you are only allowed to go for an internship in the final semester. If you get any internship before that, you are not allowed to attend.
Infrastructure: The college campus consists of a single square building with two floors. The basic facilities, like computer labs, are adequate. Regarding the hostel, the food is very good compared to other colleges, and all necessary facilities are available. Whenever a facility is needed, the student committee will address the issue, but sometimes it may not get resolved.
Faculty: The curriculum I studied follows Anna University 2017 regulations, which are good. Currently, if you pursue, the Anna University 2021 regulations will apply. The faculty members are good, all holding Ph.D. degrees, though some are non-permanent staff who have only completed a B.Tech or BE. Faculty members come to teach the lessons and then leave. If you want to gain knowledge, you have to approach them individually; then they will help.
Other: Pros: The only advantage is that the fees are lower compared to other colleges. There is no uniform, so you can dress well. Cons: There is no emphasis on sports. The hostel rules are very strict, and you may be targeted at times. The college rules are also poor; it's like being in a primary school. No festivals take place, no college day, no sports day, no arts day, and no symposiums, etc. Finally, if you live near the college and want to study in a college without a hostel, you can go there, attend classes, and go home. For people like me, staying in a hostel and wanting to explore different opportunities in the college, it must be the worst. If you ask me to rate the college out of five, I would give it a 2.

It is the best college for engineering courses.
Placements: Placements were good in our college. Almost 100 companies visited our college for recruitment. Almost 60% of students got placed in this course. Top recruiting companies were Syska, Bajaj, HCL, etc. The average salary package offered was 6 LPA. Internships were not provided by this college. Students had to find internships on their own.
Infrastructure: All facilities were available in our course. Laboratories were well-equipped. Classrooms were well-maintained. Our campus was Wi-Fi enabled. The libraries were well-stocked. Hostels were well maintained. Hostel rooms were well-furnished. The food quality was good, but mainly regional food was cooked here. Canteen was available. Sports were conducted on our campus.
Faculty: Faculty members were very helpful, well-qualified, and experienced. They also provided in-depth knowledge to students. The teaching quality was good. The course curriculum was relevant. If we studied well, we would score good marks. The passing percentage was 65%.
Other: I opted for this course because of my interest in it.

Good atmosphere to study.
Placements: 60-70% students got placed from our course. More than 15 recruiting companies came for our course. The highest package offered in our course is 4 LPA. The average package is 2 LPA and the lowest package is 1.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are neat. The classrooms are cleaned in every two days. Wi-Fi facility is also available. For Wi-Fi, we need to register in the office. Library is silent and clean. Nearly all the books, newspaper and journals are available in the library. The food in the mess and canteen is too good. Medical facilities are also available.
Faculty: The teachers are very kind to us. The teachers are very helpful for projects. They guide us patiently. The quality of teaching is nice. The students are allowed industrial visits in every semester. During industrial visits, the staff becomes our friend and allows us to enjoy.
Other: This college is not so far from the city. Only five minutes are enough to reach the college from Nagercoil. Bus facility is available for every five minute.

It is like a haven for all who study here.
Placements: TCS and many other companies provide internships and job opportunities to students. More than 80% of students are placed. The highest salary offered in the previous year was Rs. 45,000 per month, the average was around Rs. 25,000 per month, and the lowest was Rs. 15,000 per month.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are quite good and convenient for all. The quality of food in the hostel is also good. There are good medical facilities for any emergency issues. The physical department contains sports accessories to play games.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good. There are no difficulties in the semester examinations. The course curriculum is relevant. The pass percentage in the previous year was more than 85%.
Other: I chose this course to become an app developer. Our college conducts fewer cultural events. It is one of the drawbacks of our college.
