Vimala college and Assumption college are both good universities in the state. Both are very well reputated among the students.

Coming to the placements both have placement percentage about 90%. Last year, Vimala college placed 101 UG students and 96 PG students with median package being 2.7 LPA and 3.6 LPA respectively. On the other hand, Assumption college placed 90% of their students with median package being 4.7 and 3.9 LPA in UG and PG respectively.

It can be said that both these institutions are quite similar and both are as good as among them.

Good thing about this college -

Excellent faculty including highly skilled and seasoned instructors. Instructors are helpful. A calm study space that prioritizes order and discipline.Good lab spaces for hands-on learning and group projects.Frequent workshops, seminars, and guest lectures are planned. Beneficial exposure for students, Vibrant campus life that includes a wide range of extracurricular, sports, and cultural events. Reasonable tuition in contrast to many other universities. There are also numerous scholarships available.A good choice for local students seeking Science instruction in the Trichy area.
Negative side-

Certain departments require improvements to their infrastructure and facilities.Research and preparation for competitive tests receive less attention.Absence of recruiters from major brands seeking positions. Average pay scales are modest.There is hardly much research production or publishing from the college.

One of the most well-known educational establishments in Thrissur is Vimala College. It has a solid reputation and has been offering top-notch instruction for a while. The college placed 80 in  NIRF 2024 Rankings. Excellent research infrastructure and supports initiatives among students. Vibrant university with a large number of organizations, committees, and a functioning NCC unit. Outstanding placement record, with a large number of pupils put in prestigious businesses. Ample amenities, such as a computer center, seminar hall, labs, and library.
Because of this, Vimala College is regarded as one of the very good universities in Thrissur, especially for women's education.

1. Assumption College is associated with the University of Calicut, while Vimala College is associated with Mahatma Gandhi University. To evaluate both universities' academic standing, look up their accreditation and rankings.
2. Vimala college is in the area of Thrissur, and  female-only college, so you can be safe.While Assumption is situated in Kochi,   a more international setting, co-learning environment is available.
3. Vimala provides more options for BSc programs, including home science, chemistry, physics, mathematics, botany, and zoology.Few BSc courses at Assumption College, mostly in math, physics, and chemistry.a greater focus on arts and humanities courses than on science.
In conclusion, Vimala College is a better option for core Science programs like chemistry and zoology because of its very good academic reputation and placement history, particularly in Science streams. But if co-education and location are significant considerations, assumption college will be a better option.
