Objective: The three-day outbound programme known as Parichay was the first experience of the new students in the 2026–28 batch at Vivekanand Business School, with the programme taking place in two groups from 2 to 4 July and from 13 to 15 July 2026.
The programme offered the students the opportunity to spend some time with their new classmates outside of lessons. During the three days, they carried out a number of activities, all of which were designed to promote teamwork and creativity. At times, they had a competition as well.
The activities carried out were the Micro Lab, the Paper Tower, the Launch Pad, the Coin Game, the Caterpillar Race and the Content Creation Challenge. All of them were different and enjoyable. A great deal of energy was shown throughout the programme. The students were working as a team, deciding who was to be leader and who was to carry out various tasks. Certain activities proceeded without problems while others did not. The students then had to think and devise a new plan.
The programme also included the teachers and the older students, which helped the new students to talk to them and feel at ease at Vivekanand Business School.
At the close of the programme, the students looked back on what they had done and considered the activities and the people they had met.
Parichay was the first experience for the PGDM batch at Vivekanand Business School; they began as a group of strangers and ended up with a few new friends and some common experiences. Nowadays, they know the people with whom they will spend the two years at Vivekanand Business School.
VBS moves ahead in IIRF Rankings 2026: 40th National Rank and 9th State Rank
August 12, 2026: Vivekanand Business School has been placed 40th across the country and 9th within the state in the IIRF Rankings 2026.
For the VBS team, the ranking is an acknowledgement of the work being done all across the B-school. A big part of that work is offering students chances to see business outside of books and classroom talks.
Students take part in projects, internships and meetings with the industry during their studies. Learning experiences also include exposure to countries. Working on projects and talking with people from the industry helps students understand what they can expect once they start working.
The ranking is also a sign of the work done by VBS students and professors. Students add their ideas, hard work and goals to the programme while professors help them through their studies and job paths.
The IIRF Rankings 2026 award gives VBS another reason to think about the future. With a new academic year starting, the school will keep improving its programmes, connections with industry and opportunities for students.
