NIFT Fees - When pursuing a design course at the NIFTs, the candidate has to pay tuition fees and other fee components like exam fees, library fees, medical fees, and security deposit money. Some fee components, including the security deposit, are non-refundable, whereas some components, like the tuition fee are non-refundable. The course fee is a major factor for candidates in deciding their academic preferences, so we bring you a detailed breakdown of the NIFT fee structure.

NIFTs offer Bachelor of Design (BDes), Bachelor of Fashion Technology (BFTech), Master of Design (MDes), Master of Fashion Management (MFM), and Master of Fashion Technology (MFTech). The fee structure of these courses at the 20 NIFT campuses may vary. That is not all. The course fee is different for Indian nationals and NRI students. Apart from that, the fee is also different for candidates who apply for NIFT admissions under the Artisans/ Children of Artisans category. Components of NIFT 2026 Fee Structure

The total fees to be paid to NIFTs include components like tuition fees, library fees, mediclaim, and exam fees. The fee component may vary depending on the course and campus:

For NIFT PG students admitted to two year masters course, the fee has to be paid only for two years, i.e., 2026-27 & 2027-28. Alumni association membership fee will be paid in 3rd Semester (for Regular PG Candidate)

NIFT 2026 Fees Structure for Non-NRI Category

Candidates need to pay the NIFT fee every semester for the course to which they have applied for admission. The NIFT UG courses have eight semesters, whereas PG courses have four semesters. However, it just varies depending on the level of the course (UG or PG). Mentioned in the table below is the fee to be paid by non-NRI candidates for the entire course.

Important Points Regarding NIFT 2026 Fee Structure

Students should pay attention to the following points:

• Students must pay the applicable fees as per the schedule provided.

• The deadline to pay the fee for the July–December 2025 session is 18th September 2025. Fees can still be deposited until 3rd October 2025 with a late fine of ₹100 per day.

• The deadline for fee payment for the January–June 2026 session is 16th February 2026. A late fine of ₹100 per day will be applicable for payments made up to 2nd March 2026.

• Postgraduate students in the 3rd semester must pay a one-time, non-refundable Alumni Association Membership Fee of ₹5,900.

• Students who are rejoining to repeat a semester or after taking a Leave of Absence must get in touch with their respective campus before the session starts to complete all formalities. Such students are required to pay a re-registration fee of ₹10,000 plus 18% GST (₹11,800 total) per semester of absence, along with the non-refundable annual charges for Library, Student Development, Medi-claim, and Examination, in addition to the standard fees.

• Failure to pay the fee within the given deadline will result in the student's name being removed from the institute’s rolls without further notice.
