With many options available, one must choose wisely after securing low scores in a competitive exam. Explore the available options with its pros and cons before finalising one.

Every year a large number of students appear for IIT- JEE Main Exam. Every student gives their best to clear the IIT-JEE Main Exam. As we all know that every student is different and the efforts put in by every student are different. In other words, some students who secure a rank in the top 10, top 100, top 1000, and so on.

With the increasing competition, it becomes difficult for most of the students to qualify JEE Main. To get admission in the desired college, students need to secure a good rank. The students with low scores/ ranks in JEE main should not lose hope. The available options for these students are discussed in this article.

Available options, if failed to quality JEE Main

  • Whether to drop a year or not?: The first question that occurs in the mind of every student is whether or not to drop a year and try to crack the exam in the next year. The students could consider this option if they would prepare for the exam with complete focus and diligence, otherwise, the year could be wasted. To crack the exam in the re-attempt, the students must follow a clear plan, cover all the topics, revise these topics thoroughly, and practise previous year question papers and so on.
  • Best colleges one can get with low scores: In case a student gets low scores in the exam then they could try to get admission in private colleges. They could also fill forms of semi-government as well as government colleges, as in some cases seats available in government colleges so that option is also available. Try to explore and research as many colleges as possible to increase the number of options available for admission.
  • Should one wait for the subsequent counselling sessions: After the result declaration, the counselling sessions began for several colleges. So in my opinion, do not wait for any call instead attend various counselling sessions to get an idea about the seats available and then wait for the call for admission in a good college.
  • Should one opt to attempt the exam again: In case students do not want to settle for any college other than their dream college, then they could opt for reattempting the exam. Some students want to improve their scores even after securing a good score in the previous year. The students must reattempt the exam with the sole aim to get good scores and prepare with complete focus and diligence.
