How to apply for JEE Main 2015

To register for JEE Main 2015, aspirants need to follow three simple steps that include filling the application form, uploading scanned images and paying the exam fee.

The registration process for JEE Main 2015 commenced today on the official website. The exam will be conducted between April 4 - 11, 2014. While the offline exam will be conducted on April 4, the online paper will be conducted during April 10 and 11, 2015.

It should be noted that entire application process for the exam is online. Aspirants are not required to send any document to JEE Main secretariat.

Also, to register, aspirants need to follow three simple steps that include filling the application form, uploading scanned images of photograph, signature and thumb impression and paying the exam fee.

Given below is the complete procedure:

Step 1:  Students need to first fill the online application form, choose their password and note down the application number generated by the system.

Please note that at this step, students will be required to furnish all the details. They also need to choose the PASSWORD and security question and enter his/her answer.

After submitting all these datas successfully, the application number will be generated which will be helpful in completing the remaining steps of the application form and. The application number will also be required for all future correspondence. For subsequent logins, candidates will be able to login directly with his/her respective system generated application number and chosen password.

Step 2:  At this step, students need to upload scanned images of photograph, signature and thumb impression. Please note the following points while uploading the same:

  • The scanned images of photograph, Signature and thumb impression should be in jpg/jpeg format only.
  • Size of the photo image must be greater than 4 kb and less than 40 kb.
  • Size of the signature image must be greater than 1 kb and less than 30 kb.
  • Size of the thumb impression image must be greater than 1 kb and less than 30 kb.
  • Dimension of photograph image should be 3.5 cm(width) x 4.5 cm(Height) only.
  • Dimension of signature image should be 3.5 cm(length) x 1.5 cm(Height) only.
  • Dimension of thumb impression image should be 3.5 cm(length) x 1.5 cm(Height) only

Important: Aspirants will be able modify/correct the particulars before the payment of fees. However, once the payment of fee has been made / e-Challan downloaded, aspirants' will not be able edit their particulars.

Step 3:  The third and the last involves payment of the examination fee by debit/credit card or e-Challan of Syndicate/Canara/ICICI/HDFC Bank  

Payment by Debit/Credit Card: Aspirants have to select the Debit/Credit Card option to pay the application fee and follow the online instruction to complete the payment of fee. After successful payment, candidate will be able to print the acknowledgment Page. In case the acknowledgment page is not generated after payment of fee then the transaction is cancelled and amount will be refunded to the candidate account within a week and however the candidate has to make another transaction till the acknowledgment page is not generated.

Payment by Bank e-challan: Aspirants need to select bank (Syndicate/Canara/ICICI/HDFC) to deposit the application fee through e-Challan mode. As soon as he/she selects, an e-Challan will be generated containing specific details of the candidate along with amount to be paid. The candidate has to take a printout of the same and take it to the nearest branch of the selected bank for making payment. After the confirmation of fee deposited from Bank/CBSE, the candidate will be able to print the Acknowledgement Page. In case the acknowledgment page is not generated, the candidate should contact the concerned bank/branch to update his/her transaction.

After paying the examination fee, students need to select the date/slot of computer based exam of Paper 1. The aspirant who does not select the date/slot, will be allotted the date/slot on random basis upon availability.
