IIT JAM Results 2011 will be declared on 30th May, 2011!

The results of IIT JAM 2011 that is to be conducted on 8th of May, 2011 will be declared on 30th May, 2011 around 5 pm. The application forms for admission will be issued by June 1, 2011 and they will have to be submitted by June 15, 2011 along with a Demand Draft of Rs 300.

IIT JEE Rank List

Separate IIT JEE rank lists are prepared for General, OBC (non-creamy layer), SC, ST and PD category students for each test paper. One can check out the opening and closing ranks for IIT JAM 2010 on the official website of IIT Roorkee which can provide you with important clues to what will be the expected cutoffs for IIT JAM 2011.

Breaking a Tie in IIT JAM 2011 Ranks

In case of a tie between two candidates, preference is given to candidates according to the following specifications:

  • For Biotechnology and Computer Applications test papers that are fully objective, the candidate with higher ratio of positive to negative marks will be allotted a higher rank.
  • For all the other papers that have both objective and subjective questions, candidates with higher score in subjective questions will receive a higher rank.
    If the tie is still not broken, both the candidates will be awarded the same IIT JAM Rank.

IIT JAM Merit List

All India Merit List for IIT JAM will depend on the total number of seats available in a given subject. Those who will make it to the IIT JAM 2011 Merit List will be eligible to apply for admission to corresponding academic programmes being offered by different IITs.
