IITs want to reengineer new test format
IITs want to reengineer the test format of IIT JEE that is on its way to become a common entrance exam for all engineering colleges in India. While they agree that the intention behind the changes are good and justified, they also think that the proposal submitted by the ISEET is sketchy and does not clarify how the solutions suggested will help to overcome the challenges that have been stated.
The Indian Institutes of Technology feel left out of the proposed changes. The members of the IIT Kanpur and IIT Delhi senates have already written to the HRD Ministry that their views and recommendations should be taken into account. Known what IITs demand
IIT Madras Faculty Association has also asked other IITs that they should stand united on the issue. IITs agree that higher secondary marks should be part of the admission process and the ISI's marking formula is fair. But they also feel that the Ministry is trying to rush the implementation of the new format in 2013, instead of discussing its pros and cons first. Read more about views of IITs
