Paper-2 for B. Arch courses of JEE Main 2014(offline) concluded around 5:30 pm on April 6, 2014. Students coming out the test center were quite content after taking the second part. Infact, majority of them informed that the second part was way easier than the first and that they were quite sure of clearing the same.

Kunal Anand who took the exam from Dhanbad and appeared for both the papers said, “ The second paper was quite easy. However, the first part was tough. Maths was the toughest basically, with Physics and chemistry being moderate. The B.Arch paper mainly involves your mental strength but that’s not the case with the B.Tech paper because, firstly, it was lengthy and we had use a lot formulas.”

He further added, “ However, in the second paper, Maths was easier but in the first one physics was easier”.

Confirming the same, another student, Harsh Barua said,  ” The paper was very easy just like the last year. The pattern was same too. I could easily solve the architecture and the aptitude part.”

Commenting on the difficulty level of both papers, he said, “ The first paper includes physics and chemistry both, thus, the weightage is more. I would say, Paper 1 was tougher(not toughest) than Paper 2”.

Likhith, a resident of Noida, shared, “ Paper 1 was good but lengthy. Physics was kind of tricky and tough both. Chemistry was the easiest. I attempted most questions in Chemistry, around 25/30 questions. In Maths, I answered around 12 questions and in Physics, I frankly didn’t attempt many because I couldn’t take the risk of negative marks. Nothing ,as such, was unexpected in the paper.

Talking about the B.Arch paper, he said, “ I found it very easy, easier than the first. One of the major differences in both the papers was the Maths section. It was comparatively easier in the second paper. The General paper had quizzes and all, so that was easy and interesting. Infact, for me, B.Arch was easier than the first paper. “

However, another student Shivam felt the difficulty level of the Math section in both the paper was similar. He shared, “ Both the papers were quite similar due to Maths only other than that, the Aptitude section was just about quick thinking and mental calculations. It was all about shapes and sizes and thus, was quite common. Maths was tough because it was very high level.
