Student feedback:
The offline exam which concluded today received a mixed reaction from students. While a majority of students found the exam to be easiest, others thought that this year, the exam was tougher in comparison to JEE Main 2014.
There were students who said that Mathematics was the most difficult, while there was another set of students who thought Physics was tougher than Maths. Also, some thought that the exam was really easy.
According to Siddharth Kataria of Vasant Kunj, the exam was fairly easy. He said, “ I am not one of those guys who have prepared for two years. I started studying for the exam just a week before. And I found the exam quite easy. For this paper, you did not have to study for two years. If you even studied for the exam for a week continuously, you would clear the exam very easily for sure. I was quite calm and cool all throughout the exam. I wasn’t stressed out at all. Infact, I finished the exam half an hour before the exam concluded. And a lot of students I knew did the same”.
Another student Raghav Gaur who came all the way from Meerut to take the exam said, “The paper was good. However, Maths was a disappointment for me and Chemistry was the easiest. In total, I solved around 64 questions”.
Chiranjeev from Delhi said, “I expected these questions. And the paper was quite easy. I found Maths to be the toughest and Chemistry and Physics to be the easiest”.
Difficulty level:
For Kataria, the questions were nothing out of the syllabus. It was all NCERT based. He believed that the Maths and Physics part was really theoretical and it took time for calculations. Both the papers were based more on one’s practical and general knowledge.
Abhijeet Mishra from Allahabad said, “The exam overall was good. Maths was a bit tricky as compared to the other two subjects. Section B of Maths was the toughest. I attempted 23 questions in physics, 24 questions in chemistry and 17 questions in Mathematics”.
Shiksha.com also spoke to students who couldn’t solve more than half of the questions in either of the sections. Once such student, Anand Jha said, “There were so many questions in Mathematics that I couldn’t attempt in Mathematics. They were really tough. I just left so many questions. Don’t know how I would score.”
Surprises in the paper:
Talking about surprises, Siddharth shared, “There always are surprises in Physics and Mathematics. The questions in both the papers were expected and it was nothing out of the blue.”
Most of the students that shiksha.com spoke to said there were no surprises as such in the paper.
