JEE Main 2016 exam will be held on April 3 (Offline) and April 9 and 10, 2016(Online). The exam will have two papers i.e. Paper 1(for B.Tech/B.E) and Paper 2(B. Arch./ B. Planning).

JEE Main 2016 Exam Pattern & Structure:
JEE Main 2016 will have two papers – Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both the papers will have questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Students aiming for admissions into B.E or B.Tech colleges need to take Paper 1, while, aspirants planning for admissions for B.Arch and B.Planning courses will have to take Paper 2.

The three hour long examination is conducted both in Online and Offline mode. A total of 90 questions will be asked from different three subjects – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Computer Based Examination
- All questions will carry equal weightage.
- Marking: For every correct answer candidates will be awarded a total of four marks and for every wrong answer one mark will be deducted.
- No marks will be deducted from the total score if no response is selected for a question.
- For every question asked in the exam, only one response is correct so aspirants should avoid selecting multiple responses.
Pen and Paper Based Examination
- Each section will contain multiple choice questions(MCQs)
- Each question in the pen and paper based examination will carry equal weightage.
- Marking: For every correct answer, four marks will be awarded and for every incorrect response ¼ mark, that is, one mark will be deducted from the candidate’s score.
- No deduction will be made from the total score of a candidate if he/she doesn’t select any response for the question. For every question asked in this entrance examination only one out of the four responses will be correct.
