Difference between JEE Main and JEE Advanced Syllabus

The syllabus of JEE Main and JEE Advanced is very important for aspirants to prepare well for exams. The syllabus comprises crucial details such as important chapters/topics, weightage of marks, reference materials and more.

With a complete overview of the syllabus of the two exams candidates will not only study productively but will also be one step ahead in the competition. As far as the JEE Main syllabus and JEE Advanced syllabus are concerned, several topics are common for both of these examinations. However, certain topics are unique in JEE Main 2022 syllabus and some are unique in the JEE Advanced 2022 syllabus.

One important update for candidates to note here is that there is no change in JEE Main 2022 syllabus as clarified by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in the official notification. In addition to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur has also released the syllabus of JEE Advanced without changing it from the last year.

With the syllabus of both the exams to remain the same, there are significant changes in the JEE Main 2022 exam pattern. As per the new exam pattern, there will be a total of 90 questions (30 questions each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) in the JEE main question paper. However, students will have the option to answer any 75 questions (25 questions each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics).

If you got 49 % it means you got around 145 marks. The minimum cut off for general category is 90 so you can attend jee advanced exam if your board examination score is above 75%
