Now study robotics in school!
This is a first for India. Students will now get introduced to Robotics at school level. Candor International School in association with a Japanese company has introduced robotics technology in the school's curriculum to supplement theory with real-world applications, reported DNA.
In collaboration with the Japan-based Learning Systems, the school has introduced a system which will teach students robotics and programming right from first standard. Kikuchi, chairman, Learning Systems told DNA that it is the first time the company is partnering with an Indian institution. The company will also be supervising the progress of the robotics centre at the school.
He added that it is better to make the concepts clear from the beginning as many college students have trouble understanding the most basic concepts. (Read more...)
Experts from the field also feel that robotics has not got its due in India. With courses like these students can become familiar right from the school and hence perform better when they go for research.
According to Das, the school has added two trained individuals in the faculty and people from Learning Systems will be supervising the progress. He feels that robotics is stress free for children and is not as threatening and scary as Math or Physics. (Read complete story)
