<p style="text-align: justify;">India is one such economy which is growing rapidly. To grow as a nation we required skilled and trained people in every field, who can think beyond the limits and can create wonders with the available resources. To make India more developed and shining we need to give more importance to our education at all levels. HRD minister Mr.&nbsp; Kapil Sibal is trying hard to get the best foreign institutions to <img style="border: 3px solid black; margin: 3px 4px; float: right;" src="https://images.shiksha.com/mediadata/images/1267788973phpsVv0DB.jpeg " alt="" width="150" height="110">India and at the same time trying to regulate their entry to maintain a good standard for their institutions in India. In this regard he has proposed a bill in front of the ministry. According to the new proposed bill the foreign universities would be able to award the degrees to Indian students in our homeland.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><br />Taking further this initiative the Punjab University is establishing the &lsquo;Punjab International University&rsquo; near Ludhiana over 35 acres in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA. The proposed university as a joint venture project would be promoted by IREO Group. A initiative to this effect was taken by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal in a meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of Carnegie Mellon, Gil Taran, who showed keen interest in setting up a new university in the state.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><br />The Chief Executive Officer of Carnegie Mellon, Gil Taran informed the Chief Minister that the initial proposal would have 5 schools in the university, including engineering &amp; technology, education &amp; teachers training, applied sciences, humanities &amp; languages and management &amp; business studies. The courses would be fully at the par with the courses run in US campus. Efforts would be made to have degrees awarded by this university to be recognized in the US.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><br />He further added into the issue that the cost of taking education in USA and studying in at same level of university in India would reduce the expenditure of students. It will also help them to have the benefit to study in own nation and getting the education of foreign standards. He pointed out that Carnegie Mellon was rated amongst the top 10 universities of the US and its robotics department was ranked as the best.
