Keeping calm and staying focussed is the mantra to crack any competitive exam like JEE Main. Understand the concepts, cover all the important topics, and revise thoroughly to prepare for entrance exams.
As we all know, JEE Main is the most important exam for aspiring engineering students after Class 12. The students should keep various tips in mind while preparing for any competitive exam. In this article, we will discuss the preparation tips for JEE Main.
- Make a schedule allot seven to eight hours every day for studying with a few breaks in between. Formulating a schedule would help the student in preparing for the exam in an organised manner. The students could wake up early in the morning as studying in the morning with a fresh mind would help to understand the concepts in a better way.
- Go through the NCERT syllabus thoroughly, especially when it comes to the preparation of the theoretical part. For Mathematics, students could refer to both the NCERT book and RD Sharma to clarify the concepts easily.
- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are the subjects one should have a strong grip on to clear the JEE Main exam. Cover all the topics from these subjects to score well.
- Time management is crucial for students preparing for a competitive exam like JEE Main. The students might know all the questions in the exam but if they are slow, they might run out of time and mess up in the final hours. Hence, practising sample papers with a stopwatch would help in managing time effectively during the exam.
- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) are important in any competitive exam. Therefore, go through all the MCQs in the NCERT book and keep solving more related and conceptual problems
- During the last few weeks, go through and solve previous years JEE Main papers, and also some sample papers available on the official website. This would help in identifying the weak areas as well as enhancing speed and accuracy.
Normally it is suggested that students should take a whole year to prepare well for the JEE Main exam. However, if a student has less time in hand, might be a month or two left for the exam, then try not to panic instead analyse the preparation. If the students have studied for their board exams then it could be possible for them to still clear the paper, might not be with high marks, but with satisfactory scores to get through the cut-offs.
Try to stay calm and positive before the exam. Spend time with family to ease the pressure off. Revise all the topics thoroughly to enhance the confidence level. Eat healthy and stay fit during the preparation process.
