Gate Institute of Technology and Sciences has below criteria for taking admissions to it's various courses:

Courses	Eligibility
M.E./M.Tech	Candidate must have completed B.E./B.Tech. /AMIE in CSE/ CSIT/ Electronics & Computers Engg. /IT & Computer Science and Systems Engineering or equivalent from a UGC recognised University/ Institute. Preference will be given to GATE qualified candidates over TS PGECET qualified candidates. Candidate must have secured 50% marks in group subjects taken together in the qualifying examination (45% for reserved category).
B.E. / B.Tech	Candidates who have passed or appeared at the final year of the Diploma examination in Engineering conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Telangana / Andhra Pradesh or any other examination recognised as equivalent thereto by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Telangana / Andhra Pradesh. Candidates should have completed 16 years of age, as on 31st December of the year of admission. There is no upper age limit.
MBA/PGDM	Candidate must have passed Bachelor Degree (BA / B.Com/ B.Sc/ BBA / BBM / BCA / BE / B.Tech / B. Pharmacy / Any 3 or 4 year Degree except Oriental Languages). Examinations of minimum three years duration with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of reserved categories) in the qualifying examinations. Final year appearing students may also apply on provisional basis. The minimum age of the candidates should be 19 years as on the date of notification (Candidates whose date of Birth up to 30th MARCH, 2003). No maximum age limit.
After 10th Diploma	Candidate must have passed 10th examination from a recognised board.

As IIT Hyderabad admissions depends on entrance exam scores such as JEE Mains/Advanced, GATE, IIT JAM, etc. the release of application forms coincides with the release of the application forms for these exams. Students should check the website of their respective exam and the IIT Hyderabad page for the latest information.

The cutoff changes depending on rounds, specialisations, and categories. If you qualify under the General AI quota, the maximum required JEE Main cutoff rank for B.Tech admission was 60255 in 2025.Those who have a lower cutoff than the one specified can get a seat in NIT Warangal BTech. For CSE, ECE, etc., the cutoff ranks tend to be lower showing high competition for admission in the engineering aspirants.

 

Admission process for various UG and PG courses offered by JNTUH College of Engineering differs depending on the stream. Admission to a majority of courses offered by JNTUH College of Engineering is entrance-based. Apart from JEE Main and GATE candidates can also appear for TS EAMCET, CPGET,  and TSICET for admission to UG and PG courses offered by JNTUH College of Engineering.
