Students have been increasingly drawn to this field in recent times. When it comes to a career, the most prevalent options are research, academia or working in private labs/ agencies or clearing various government exams. Employees for central/state labs, police, CBI, IB and Customs are recruited via UPSC, PSC or department exams.
The scope of forensic Science abroad is fairly decent. Many colleges offer programs with good facilities. Though the scope of a certain course highly depends on the area we're talking about. It's simple. Both are interrelated fields, but serve different purposes. Criminology reads criminals' psychology, analyzes crime patterns, and works on prevention.
Forensic Science, on the other hand, is all about collecting evidence from a crime scene, test them for new findings to help officials solve the case.
