Kolkata University accepts the scores of various entrance examinations for admissions. The university accepts the scores of WBJEE for BTech, CULET UG for BA LLB (Hons), CAT/ MAT/XMAT/JEMAT for MBA, CULET PG for LLM and WBJECA for MCA.

Kalyani University admission to most of the courses are offered via scores of various state/ national-level entrance exams. However, the university does not conduct any entrance exams on its own, but it accepts a few state/ national-level entrances conducted by West Bengal state. These include WBJEE, WB JECA, WB JEMAT, CAT, MAT, GATE, etc., for admission to BTech, MCA, MBA and M.Tech programmes. For courses such as BCom, BA, BSc, MA, etc., direct admissions are offered to candidates based on their scores obtained in the previous qualifying exam. To get admission into BSc course at Visva Bharati University, students must complete  Class 12 with 50% marks. The applicants also have to register and appear for CUET entrance test to secure admission at the institute. 

Vidyasagar University MA admission is subject to a valid score in the last qualifying exam, i.e., Bachelor's Degree with 50% aggregate the respective subjects from a recognised university. To secure MA admission candidates must first register on the official website of the university followed by the application porcess. Further, students are shortlisted  based on merit in the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Vidyasagar University. Shortlisted candidates are required to pay the final MA fee to finalise their admission at the university.

University of North Bengal admission based on merit and entrance exams. For admission to its MBA programme, the university accepts CAT, MAT, CMA, ATMA, and others.
