University of Calicut is a good university. Calicut University, also known as The University of Calicut, is a state-private university that was established in 1968 in Calicut. Kannur University offers a Diploma in Tulu which is a one-year course. The course duration is further divided into two semesters. The university conducts classes for the programme on only on Saturdays. Over one year, there are 200 teaching hours in total. The medium of instruction and examination is Kannada. The course curriculum includes learning about the history and literature of Tulu. It also includes a project work which can be carried out as field work or desk work.
