Only a State Bank of India savings account works. It must be in the scholar's name alone. It must be linked with Aadhaar. Joint, zero balance and Jan Dhan accounts are rejected.

You must pass all subjects in the first attempt. You also need 60% marks or a 7.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale. B.Sc. (Hons.) students need this in their main subjects.

No. Engineering and Medicine are on the exclusion list. Computer Science, Information Technology, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics and Instrumentation are also out. Distance education courses do not qualify.

B.Sc., B.S., B.Sc. with Research of four years, and integrated M.Sc. or M.S. courses in basic Science are covered. Eighteen subjects are eligible at UG level. Twenty-two are eligible at M.Sc. level.

Students aged 17 to 22 can apply. They must be in the top 1 percent of their board in 12th Class. A top 10,000 rank in JEE or NEET also works. NTSE, JBNSTS and Olympiad awardees qualify too.

Scholars get INR 60,000 a year as scholarship. It is paid at INR 5,000 per month. A mentorship grant of INR 20,000 a year is added. The total is INR 80,000.

Yes, it is still available. Since you passed in 2025, your Inspire Scholarship will remain active for up to five years.

Yes. Every year the selected students are required to do a summer research project with a scientist or research institute. The students are given extra INR 20,000 to do summer project.

No. This scholarship is given only to those students who are enrolled in basic and natural Science courses like Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology, etc. Students who are enrolled in Arts, Commerce, Engineering and other professional courses are not eligible for the scholarship.

Selected candidates can receive the scholarship for up to 5 years or till their Science course is completed, whichever comes first. Students who are selected for the INSPIR scholarship are given INR 80000 per year.
