ISB launches management programme for family businesses
The needs of the future leaders of family-owned businesses in India are quite different when it comes to management lessons. The Indian School of Business (ISB) is keen to address those needs with its new Management Programme for Family Business (MFAB).
The curriculum of MFAB has been specially designed to groom the younger generation of family-owned businesses for leadership. The programme will help the future leaders to navigate and grow their businesses in a globalised business environment, thrive in cut-throat competition, and also contribute to the nation-building process. MFAB will focus on enhancing analytical and functional skills, strengthening strategy and leadership, and addressing unique challenges related to family businesses. It will equip business scions with modern management tools to help them handle businesses professionally, offering them interactions with world-class faculty, industry interventions, experiential learning, and international exposure.
The rigor and content of MFAB is expected to be equivalent to top global Masters in Management programmes. MFAB will be a part-time programme with a modular structure and a total duration of fifteen months. Hence, one does not need to take break from work to pursue it. Every sixth week, modules of seven days will be delivered at the ISB campuses in Hyderabad and Mohali. It will also offer an opportunity for international immersions in USA, Africa and China.
To pursue the programme, students should have a Bachelors Degree or an equivalent qualification (like CA, etc.), and preferably, prior work experience of four years. The selection process will include a Business Aptitude Test (BAT) and a personal interview.
The registration process for the programme will start on January 1, 2013, and the first batch of the programme will commence in August 2013.
