MBA admission 2014: Group Discussions - Learn to do it right with these videos
So you cracked the CAT (or maybe it was XAT/SNAP/NMAT/IIFT/CMAT). Now what? There’s an even bigger hurdle to clear. It’s called the Group Discussion (GD) rounds. You’ll escape the GD nook, if you get a call from 11 IIMs (Indian Institutes of Management). But not in rest of the B-Schools.
So what is GD? In most B-schools, it is 7-20 people thrown in a room and asked to discuss a given topic. Which could be anything between “Is Yo Yo Honey Singh a closet feminist?” to “Life after death: does it exist?” And of course, through it all, you need to: Speak right. Sit right. Hell, even dress right!
They have even developed newer ways to conduct GDs: case-based discussions and group exercises.
