Students’ Speak: How to crack SNAP 2019 like a pro

An aspirant who has prepared for Common Admission Test (CAT) diligently would find Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) exam to be a cakewalk. SNAP is one of the easiest exams in the series. It tries to check the accuracy of the candidate.

This year onwards the new pattern does not include current affairs as a separate section and reduction in the number of questions has made the competition a little stiff. The candidates are advised not to worry about these changes as SNAP is known for its ever-changing pattern. When I took my CAT exam, it had shifted from pen and paper to online mode. However, due to the preparation of CAT exam, it worked in my favour.

There is no fixed sequence of attempting the paper, you should first go with the section in which you are comfortable. The mock exams should give you a fair hint of what your strong points are. The reason why this is the best approach is that in such time-based exams you can feel confident if your start is good.

Students generally make a mistake of trying to attempt all the questions. It is absolutely normal to not know some questions, especially in the GK section, given the portion is vast and unpredictable. I still remember one of the questions asked in SNAP, ‘Who has written the famous Dothraki language in the show Game of Thrones?’ and it was pretty disappointing to not know the answer of this question, but you got to leave the questions that you are unsure of because wrong answers come with negative marking.

Also, don’t get very excited if the section or the exam is easy because the exam is not only easy for you but also for everyone else sitting for it, and over-excitement often leads to mistakes. Read the question thoroughly and answer only if you are sure about it.

Don’t forget to enjoy the experience, SNAP is one exam that I enjoyed taking because the kind of questions asked in the exam actually makes you think on your toes. Most importantly, one exam cannot decide your calibre. Always step inside the exam hall with a positive approach and calm yourself before starting the exam. Also, since the exam is in the afternoon, it’s better to have a rich meal before the exam because in that pressuring situation the last thing that you want to have is those hunger pangs to disturb you.

With that, I would like to wish all the SNAP aspirants, All the best!
