IIM Mumbai Admission Criteria 2026-2028: CAT 2025 Cut Offs and PI Score for MBA
IIM Mumbai admission criteria 2026-28 has been released. Personal Interview round will be held on the basis of CAT 2025 score. Check here the selection criteria and admission process of IIM Mumbai which was formerly known as NITIE.
IIM Mumbai admission criteria 2026-28 includes overall CAT percentile of 85 for General category candidates. Any candidate who has scored 85 percentile in CAT 2025 is be eligible for admission to IIM Mumbai’s full-time MBA programmes. IIM Mumbai was formerly known as NITIE Mumbai which was established over 60 years go. As per Gazette notification dated August 16, 2023, NITIE was renamed as IIM Mumbai. It became the 21st IIM.

IIM Mumbai Eligibility Criteria for MBA
- The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45 % in case of SC/ST/PwD category.
- The bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification must entail a minimum of three years of education after completing class 12 or equivalent.
- A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. Such a candidate must have obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent (45% in case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST/PwD category) in first and second year of the degree programme.

Candidates shortlisted on the basis of their CAT exam result will be invited for the Personal Interview (PI) round. IIM Mumbai will share the PI process details, dates and venue with selected candidates through email.
IIM Mumbai Admission Criteria 2026-2028: Final Selection
The final selection of candidates for IIM Mumbai MBA programmes will be done on the basis of their composite scores. The criteria of final selection will include academic performance and work experience. Five points will be awarded for more than 36 months of work experience.

The PI round will be conducted in March-April 2025 and the final selection calls will be made in May 2025. Selected candidates will be required to confirm acceptance of admission offer within the deadline to secure admission.

For PGDIM course admission, candidates must have satisfy the eligibility criteria and appear for the CAT entrance exam. Indian candidates are shortlisted for the group discussion (GD) and personal interview (PI) process based on their valid CAT scores subject to meeting the minimum eligibility criteria. On the other hand, international candidates are shortlisted for the group discussion and personal interview process based on GMAT scores, IELTS/ TOEFL (applicable for foreign candidates) and 60% aggregate marks in the qualifying degree.

IIM Mumbai offers financial assistance in the form of financial assistance to PhD scholarships. During the first and second years of the PhD, students get INR 37,000 per month. Stay in hostels is not mandatory in IIM Mumbai. It's depends on you if you don't want to take hostel, then you can live outside but I think in IIM Mumbai, for some courses like PGDIE, PGDIM hostels are compulsory. The CAT cut offs for IIM Bangalore hovers between 97-100 percentile.
