Syllabus Released for Common Medical Entrance Test: MCI
On Friday, the Medical Council of India (MCI) has released the syllabus for very first common medical entrance test for undergraduate medical courses. The medical entrance examination is scheduled for 13th May, 2012 and syllabus for the same is available on the website of MCI.
As per an MCI statement, the final core and other relevant documents are available on the NEET-UG tab on the MCI website. Common Entrance Test (CET) for UG medical programmes will begin from 2012, and this single entrance examination will be held for admissions to all government and private medical colleges in the country.
Until now, students had to appear in various national and state level entrance tests in order to get admissions to several medical colleges. About 300 medical colleges exist in the country, out of which 180 are privately owned and run.
So far, the delay in the syllabus for the 2012 entrance examination has caused concern amongst students but after the release of syllabus, they are relieved from this tension as well.
Good Luck!
