Indus International School in Bengaluru serves food to both day schoolers and boarders. After eating the meal served in this international school on Sarjapur Road, nearly twenty-one students of one section of grade 2 fell sick from a suspected case of food poisoning.

As per the TOI report, the school is investigating the matter and has sent food and water samples for testing. Parents are suspecting the chicken served during the meal created health issues in these students.

Last month, nearly 80 students of Morarji Desai residential school in Gondhichatnalli in Shivamogga district fell ill allegedly after consuming a meal at the hostel. In this case, the students felt uneasy after eating chapati, rice and curry in the afternoon at the hostel. The students underwent treatment in hospital and then were discharged from the hospital.

In a similar case in Mengaluru, 140 students from City Nursing Hospital and College, fell ill and had to be rushed to the hospital, in a suspected case of food poisoning. An ambulance was sent to the hostel and patients were taken to the hospital. A team of officers comprising the district food safety officer, district surveillance officer and district training centre inspected all three hostels.
