The Supreme Court will be hearing a plea on the cancellation of exams on June 22 at 2 PM.
The Supreme Court of India is going to hear a plea seeking cancellation of AP Inter Exam 2021 for Class 12 students today at 2 PM as the Board of Intermediate Education Andhra Pradesh (BIEAP) is yet to take a decision on AP Inter exams 2021.
This year, the examinations were scheduled to be conducted from May 5 to May 23, 2021, according to the released AP Inter Time Table 2021, but the exams were declared to be postponed until the COVID-19 situation improves.
During Monday’s hearing, Advocate Mahfooz Nazki, who appeared for Andhra Pradesh had informed the court that the state government was firm on its stand on holding the AP Inter Exam 2021 once the COVID-19 situation is conducive.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had also issued notices to several state governments who were yet to decide on the cancellation of the Class 12 Board Exams for this year in light of the COVID-19 situation. These states included Punjab, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. However, following the notice from the apex court, PSEB 12th, Assam Class 12 as well as Karnataka 2nd PUC were cancelled. Only, AP is yet to take a decision on Class 12 exams.
On June 1, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the cancellation of CBSE Class 12 exams 2021 following which CISCE ISC exams and state boards cancelled their Class 12 examinations and Class 10 exams as well.
