HRD Minister lauded girl students for their outstanding performance in the CBSE 10th Results 2020. 

Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank praised girl students for their outstanding performance in the CBSE 10th Results 2020. The CBSE announced the CBSE 10th Results 2020 on July 15. As per the statistics, 91.46 per cent students passed the Class 10 CBSE exams. This year, a total of 18,85,885 students registered for CBSE class 10 exams out of which 18,73,015 appeared and 17,13,121 students passed. The HRD Minister through his social media handle said that the Girls are leading the way ahead in achieving Sustainable Development Goals and Quality Education.

While launching the performance list of the CBSE Class 10th students, the HRD Minister said that the excellent performance of the girls in the Class 10 CBSE examinations has accelerated the performance towards fulfilling the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG4) which is quality education. The SDG4 aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and also promote lifelong opportunities for all the students.

In a tweet, the Union HRD Minister said that he is proud to share that girls are leading the way, accelerating progress towards SDG 4. Girls have again surpassed boys with amazing results in class 10th CBSE board exams. 93.31 per cent of girls have been promoted as compared to 90.14 per cent of boys across the country.

In CBSE 12th Exams 2020 also girls have performed better than boys as well with 92.15 percent girls qualified the examinations which is 6 per cent more than the pass percentage of boys while the class 10 girls have performed better than the boys by 3.17 percent. 

Quality of education is one of the 17 global SDGs which make up for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The Sustainable Development Goals have been adopted by 192 Member States at the UN General Assembly Summit in 2015.
