My vision is to expand access to high-quality international education in India, says Sen Pidet, Managing Director of SpringBoard4Education. He explains why the Western Australian Curriculum is aligned with India’s NEP 2020, how it benefits students, and why schools should consider adopting it.

In conversation with Shiksha.com, he outlines why Indian schools are responding positively, how WACE aligns with NEP 2020, and what support is being offered to partner institutions.

Q. Why should Indian schools adopt the Western Australian Curriculum?

A: The Indian education landscape is undergoing a paradigm shift with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes competency-based learning, critical thinking, and the integration of vocational education.

The Western Australian Curriculum is perfectly aligned with these reforms. It focuses on preparing students for modern workplaces by nurturing creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, while also instilling strong values. Importantly, it is already recognized in India by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

Unlike many other international curricula that remain out of reach for middle- and lower-middle-class families due to high costs, the Western Australian Curriculum delivers the same global standards at an affordable price point. This ensures that quality international education is accessible to a much wider section of Indian learners.

Q. How would Indian students benefit from studying under the Western Australian Curriculum?

A: The NEP 2020 highlights holistic education—focusing not only on literacy and numeracy but also on social, ethical, and emotional skills. The Western Australian Curriculum already incorporates these principles.

It equips students with creativity, adaptability, and global awareness, making them well-prepared for higher education both in India and abroad. Students holding the WACE qualification enjoy a strong advantage in international university admissions and global employability.

Additionally, I have been told that the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) is working to integrate Indian language subjects, ensuring alignment with NEP 2020 and further tailoring the program for Indian learners.

Q. Are you the only provider of the Western Australian Curriculum in India? If not, why should schools partner with you?

A: The School Curriculum and Standards Authority of Department of Education of Government of Western Australia authorizes the delivery of its curriculum worldwide. While a few associates in India have recently entered the field, many are still in their first academic cycle.

We, on the other hand, bring extensive global experience, having successfully delivered the Western Australian Curriculum across multiple countries. This gives us an unmatched ability to provide tested academic support, professional teacher training, and robust student mentoring.

Our competitive pricing model makes adoption easier for schools. What truly differentiates us, however, is our commitment to equity—including fully funded scholarships for outstanding Indian students to pursue their bachelor’s degrees in Western Australia. This unique initiative is exclusive to our group.

Q. How are Indian schools perceiving the adoption of the Western Australian Curriculum?

A: The response has been overwhelmingly positive. Schools recognize the immense value of the curriculum in equipping their students for the future. Parents, too, are increasingly eager to invest in quality education, though affordability remains a challenge.

That is why our approach emphasizes equity and inclusivity. By offering the curriculum at the most competitive price, we ensure that more schools and students can benefit. We already have several schools at advanced stages of onboarding, reflecting the strong confidence that Indian educators have in WACE.

Q. How do you support Indian schools that decide to adopt the Western Australian Curriculum?

A: When a school decides to partner with us, we make sure they are fully supported at every step of the journey. We begin with a comprehensive orientation program for school leaders and teachers so that they clearly understand the philosophy and structure of the curriculum. Training is a key focus, and we arrange for experts from the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) in Western Australia to fly down and directly train Indian teachers—at no cost to the schools. This gives teachers the confidence and skills to deliver the curriculum effectively from day one.

The support does not end there. We work closely with schools on day-to-day implementation, help them design assessments, and guide them in tracking student progress. Our team is always available to handhold schools academically, ensuring the transition is smooth and sustainable. What makes the experience even more special for students is the unique option to receive their graduation certificate in Perth, which provides them with a truly international exposure. In short, we don’t see ourselves as just a curriculum provider, but as a long-term partner committed to the success of schools and their students.
