While Maharashtra board will conduct Class 10th, 12th board exams offline, there is no clarity whether exams till Class 9 will or will not be held.
Maharashtra State Board for Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) will conduct the Mah HSC, SSC 12th board examinations offline this year. However, there is no clarity on whether annual examinations till Class 9 will be held or not.
While RTE Act does not allow to hold back students till Class 8, a decision on final exams is critical for Class 9. School education minister, Varsha Gaikwad informed that government could consider promoting all students.
According to a media report, Anil Bornare, executive member of BJP Teachers’ Cell said, “The government said it will conduct the HSC, SSC examinations but there is no clarity for other classes. Many students have not been able to avail the digital classes and hence will not be able to appear for the exams online. Teachers are uncertain about planning the final exams. Students can be promoted but a certain process has to be followed across state. Without instructions on how to complete this academic year, we cannot move to the next. The final decision is yet to be taken by the board.
Meanwhile, Mah SSC exams 2021 are scheduled from April 29 until May 20 while Mah HSC exams 2021 will be held between April 23 and May 21. Students must finish with their syllabus and practice solving the sample papers to get familiar with the marking scheme, exam pattern, and the types of questions asked in the exam.
