Maharashtra School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad welcomed Centre's decision to cancel CBSE 12th Board exams and assured quick decision on State HSC exams.
Maharashtra Education board will soon announce its decision on the conduct of Maharashtra HSC exams 2021. Speaking on the CBSE’s decision to cancel the Class 12 Board Examinations, Varsha Gaikwad said that the Maharashtra Government had demanded a non-examination route for Class 12 board exams. She also said that the decision regarding conduct or cancellation of Maharashtra HSC exams 2021 will soon be taken keeping the student's health and safety in mind.
Gaikwad shared her message via recorded message on Twitter. She said that the decision on HSC exams would be taken keeping the safety and mental health of the students. “There is no doubt that Class 12 exams are an important milestone in a student's life but given the current circumstances the health and mental well-being of our children should be prioritised,” she added.
State CM Uddhav Thackeray had also asked PM Modi to decide on the Class 12 Board Exams, asking for a national uniform policy. With the national boards cancelling class 12 exams, Maharashtra is likely to follow suit and cancel the HSC Board Exams 2021. The Board has already cancelled the Maha SSC exams 2021.
On June 1, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) cancelled the CBSE 12th Exams 2021. The decision was heartily welcomed by everyone. Decision on other state board exams is also expected to be announced soon now.
