Maharashtra Schools will be conducting oral tests for the students who have failed in classes 9th and 11th to promote them to the next grade.

Maharashtra Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad has announced that the state schools will give another opportunity to students who had failed in the 9th and 11th standard. The HSC and SSC admissions will be granted to such students on the basis of the oral exams. The schools will be conducting the oral exams by inviting the students to their respective schools or through video conferencing. This has been done to provide another chance to the students who could for some reason not pass their exams. The minister made the announcement through her twitter handle to provide the details on the exams.

Due to the coronavirus outbreak in the country, this year the schools have not been holding classes physically since March 2020. Many states had cancelled all junior classes and Board exams, owing to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic situation.

Most recently the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, MSBSHSE is informed to issue guidelines for the junior colleges regarding the HSC and SSC mark sheets distribution amid the pandemic outbreak. MSBSHSE had announced the Maharashtra HSC Result 2020 on July 16, 2020. The overall pass percentage stood at 90.66 per cent. The Board will be declaring the Maharashtra SSC Results 2020 by end of this month. The Maharashtra SSC results 2020 (Class 10) has been delayed due to COVID-19 outbreak in the country. Due to the lockdown imposed across the country, the evaluation process was delayed.  This year, a total of 13 lakh students appeared for the Maharashtra HSC examination 2020 and 17 lakh students appeared for the Maharashtra SSC exam.
