With reports about reducing passing marks, delayed HSC and SSC exams doing rounds on social media, MSBSHSC said detailed guidelines on conducting the exams will be issued soon.

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSC) has shared that it’ll be sharing the detailed guidelines on the conduct of Maharashtra HSC, SSC exams 2021 in a day. There have been several reports and messages doing rounds on social networks informing students of postponement in the Mah SSC and HSC exams, a further reduction in the syllabus, and the need to score only 25 per cent as opposed to 35 per cent to clear the examinations.

Refuting the reports, the board has issued a clarification that reads, β€œThere have been several rumours about the written and oral/practical examination. This is creating panic among the students. We appeal to the stakeholders not to believe in these rumours and rest assured that the board will issue official statements from time to time. The board will issue detailed guidelines for the examination in the next two days.”

The school education minister, Varsha Gaikwad consulted stakeholders to seek suggestions to safely conduct the board exams offline and kickstarted a campaign for the same.

Over 17 lakh students appear for the Class 10th exams and around 15 lakh take the Class 12th exams in the state every year. The Maha HSC 2021 examinations will begin on April 23 and end on May 21 while Maharashtra SSC exams will be conducted between April 29 and May 20. Similarly, the practical and oral examinations are currently scheduled to begin on April 5 and April 12 for HSC and SSC respectively.
