Maharashtra HSC, SSC Exams 2021: Majority students upset with offline exams; want them online

According to a survey by a state-based teacher, 79% of students are upset with the Board’s decision to conduct the board examinations offline.

Maharashtra State Education Board informed that it will conduct the Mah HSC, SSC exams 2021 in the offline mode between April 23 and May 21. With the surge in the COVID19 cases across the state, students are upset with the decision of the exams being conducted in offline exams.

According to a media report, a survey conducted by a state-based teacher revealed that 79 per cent of students in the state are dissatisfied with the decision. Dinesh Kumar Gupta, a teacher from a Hindi-medium civic school reached out to 1.5 lakh students to find out their opinion about the upcoming board examinations. In this regard, Gupta said, “We have reached out to the education department to demand that they should change the format of the examinations for the current year considering the learning has been impacted due to the pandemic.”

Among the respondents, 84 per cent of students said that the syllabus for the exams should be further reduced, 70 per cent were not satisfied with the online lectures and 33 per cent of these students were willing to drop an academic year to prepare in a better way for the exams.

According to the Mah Time Table 2021, HSC exams are scheduled between April 23 and May 21 while SSC exams will be held from April 29 till May 20. Students preparing for the examinations must go through the complete syllabus and cover every topic mentioned therein. They must also solve and practice previous years’ question papers to get familiar with the exam pattern. Marking scheme and the types of questions asked in the exams.
