Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) has issued guidelines for submitting online examination forms and fees for Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Class 12 Examination, 2026.

Board has directed principals of higher secondary schools and colleges regarding filling up online Examination Application Forms for upcoming Class12 Exam, 2026. Notification has details related to eligibility processes and deadlines to ensure smooth registration for regular non-regular compartmental improvement and private candidates.

Online portal for all categories will open on November 13, 2025, and close on December 5, 2025. A late submission window with a fine of ₹400 per candidate will be available until December 12, 2025. Candidates will have to apply through official MBOSE website, www.mbose.in, under 'Examination Login' section, using initial password "Hsslc@2025" (which must be changed upon first login).

Class 12 eligibility varies by category. Regular candidates (I and II) include those attending affiliated or unaffiliated schools who have passed institutional selection tests. Non-regular candidates, who failed in more than two subjects in prior exams, must reappear in all subjects without changes. Compartmental candidates, limited to three or fewer failed subjects, will get only two chances before shifting to non-regular status. Improvement candidates from 2025 batch can reattempt subjects for better scores, with one chance only. Private candidates are restricted to the Arts stream and require prior Board permission, including passing a Class XI internal exam after registration.

Notice also covers exemptions for Persons with Disabilities (PWD), including visually impaired, hearing impaired, and others, who are waived from certain subjects like MIL or Alternative English and examination fees upon submission of a Unique Disability ID (UDID).

MBOSE official notice states that Environmental Education grades for regular candidates must be internally assessed and entered in forms, using a scale from A (86%-100%) to E (0%-35%).Examination fees differ by stream and category, incorporating payments to Board for exams and documents, plus centre and practical charges.

For instance, regular Science stream candidates with five practicals pay a total of ₹2,700, while Arts/Commerce regulars with five practicals pay ₹2,550. Non-regular and compartmental fees start at ₹1,750 without practicals, scaling up with additional subjects. Private candidates face similar structures, up to ₹3,070 for six practicals.

MBOSE will share detailed exam schedule for Class 12 exam separately.
