Changes Introduced in PSEB Exam Pattern 2026 Class 10, 12
There are three major changes brought about in the PSEB paper pattern. These are listed below:
Reduction in Objective Questions (MCQs) - The share of objective-type questions has been reduced from 40 per cent to 25 per cent.
Questions From Within the Chapter - Earlier, 100 per cent of questions were taken only from the exercises at the end of the textbook chapters. Now, at least 25 per cent of questions will come from within the chapter content itself, while the remaining 75 per cent will be from the exercises. This will require students to study the entire chapter in depth.
Increase in Difficulty Level - There has been a change in the distribution of difficulty level. Earlier, the PSEB exams were 40 per cent easy, 40 per cent average and 20 per cent difficult. After the introduction of changes, it will be 30 per cent easy, 40 per cent average and 30 per cent difficult.
Students must make note of these changes and prepare accordingly. They should finish their PSEB syllabus thoroughly and know well the exam pattern. They must also solve and practice the PSEB sample papers and previous years' ques papers for better preparation.
