Tamil Nadu School Education Department will be conducting re-exam for TN 12th Board Exam absentee students on July 27.
The Tamil Nadu School Education Minister K A Sengottaiyan has announced that it will conduct the re-exam for Tamil Nadu 12TH Board students on July 27, 2020. TN Class 12 (Plus Two) State Board students, who missed the last board exam on March 24, must mandatorily appear in the exam to be held on July 27, to clear the Higher secondary schooling, he said. The exam will be conducted for those who couldn’t appear for the exam earlier due to lockdown.The Tamil Nadu Government will also be providing transport facilities to the students to commute to the exam centres. The School Education Minister further said that the government has decided to allot examination centres for all 34,842 students who could not appear for it on March 24 due to coronavirus lockdown.
Earlier, the state government was not sure if they can conduct the re-exam of the absentees or withhold their results. Later,the state education department found that only 671 students were absent for one exam while rest were absent for all exams.
When asked about the TN 12th Results 2020 release date, he said, "4,482 students did not attend the TN 12th exam which was scheduled on March 24 owing to the lockdown. Of these, 718 students have submitted letters expressing their willingness to write the exam. The TN 12th Result 2020 will be announced four days after conducting this exam. Students will be able to download the Tamil Nadu 12th Admit Card 2020 from the website www.dge.tn.gov.in from July 13 to 17.”
Tamil Nadu had earlier announced that it has decided to scrap the remaining Tamil Nadu 10th Board Exams 2020 and promote students on the basis of internal assessment marks and attendance. The TN 10TH Board results 2020 are also expected soon. However, a date for TN 10th result is yet to be decided.
The Tamil Nadu government has also announced that it will start the online classes for the students studying in government schools in the state. The online classes will be conducted through five private TV channels which will broadcast educational lessons to students free of cost, state School Education Minister K A Sengottaiyan said.
The Education Minister said that the prepartory work on conducting the online class will begin after July 13. Besides the state-owned education channel, the private channels have agreed to telecast the online classes at scheduled time.
Students will also be distributed textbooks to initiate the conduct of the online classes, which will be inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palnaisawami, he said.
"Students will be allowed to write exams in their respective schools. No examination centre will be set up in the containment zone," he added.
