West Bengal schools have decided to conduct the annual examinations in offline mode for both classes 9 and 11 after physical classes resumed from February 12.
Schools in the state of West Bengal have decided to conduct the annual exams for WBBSE classes 9 and 11 offline for the academic session 2020-21. With most schools having started with the physical classes on February 12, the state has decided to conduct the exams offline. This comes despite receiving emails and calls from parents to conduct exams online.
Parents suggest that the schools should conduct the exam in both modes – offline and online. “We do not want to our children to school for exams,” they protested. However, schools feel that many students took unfair means while appearing for online examinations and that students have lost the habit of writing for two to three hours.
Meanwhile, with CBSE issuing a circular to hold class 9, 11 exams offline, many schools say that the majority of the parents have agreed to send their kids to schools to appear for the examination.
The schools in the state reopened last week after a gap of 10 months. The decision to reopen schools was taken by the state government keeping under consideration the upcoming Board exams. WBBSE exams 2021 are scheduled between June 1 and June 10. The hall tickets will be issued in May and the WB Madhyamik Result 2021 is likely to be declared in the last week of July.
