The Fellowship will include two types of fellows. One, those who demonstrate outstanding transferable skills, sustained interest, and some work in countering climate change. Second, those who are well established, advanced professionals, who wish to leverage their skills and experience towards solutions for climate change.

Anant National University is launching a first-ever Fellowship programme for Climate Action. According to an official statement issued by the University, the Fellowship’s long term mission is to create a community, both offline and online, of climate change trailblazers who cross-pollinate each other's work with expertise and ideas across generations, regions, and sectors.

Provost of Anant National University, Anunaya Chaubey said that they aim to include as many people as possible who wish to be part of the solution to climate change. The Fellowship for Climate Action is designed in a way that it can benefit all, a working professional, entrepreneurs, or young climate activists, who can dedicate a year of their life. The one-year immersive programme is based on a mentor-mentee framework that then feeds into a unique online education platform to counter climate change. The Fellowship will include two types of fellows. One, those who demonstrate outstanding transferable skills, sustained interest, and some work in countering climate change. Second, those who are well established, advanced professionals, who wish to leverage their skills and experience towards solutions for climate change.

Advanced professional fellows will only need to complete 3 of the total 6 terms of the Fellowship. This will give them the flexibility to continue to work alongside. 75% of the Fellowship classes will take place at locations that are hard hit by climate change. All fellows will work closely with a mentor, chosen from a respected board of mentors who are supporting the Fellowship.

The online platform of the Fellowship programme will accept students from all over the world. The content for the online programme will be gathered from the curated talks of the mentors as well as from the courses being taught to the fellows. The students will work together online to co-create solutions.

According to the Fellowship lead, sustainability expert, Dr.Miniya Chatterji, there is a large group of individuals who use their skills as engineer, doctor, lawyer, designer, finance expert, policy specialist, architect and more, to counter climate change and are dedicated to doing more. The passion of these individuals will be steered towards the most critical and urgent solutions to gain further success and desired results.
