Anna University must schedule re-exam for BTech students: Tamil Nadu Government

Following the complaints received from the students about the test, a review meeting was conducted by the state chief minister M K Stalin with higher education minister K Ponmudi, secretary Apoorva, and officials from Anna University on Monday.

Anna University Re-exams 2021: The Tamil Nadu government on April 10, 2021, directed Anna University to conduct a re-exam for engineering students who appeared for an online proctored test in February. Earlier, many engineering colleges complained that the “pass percentage in the exam was low due to multiple choice-based questions and the university has withheld the results of many students.”

 Following the complaints received from the students about the test, a review meeting was conducted by the state chief minister M K Stalin with higher education minister K Ponmudi, secretary Apoorva, and officials from Anna University on Monday. After discussing various aspects and considering the hardships faced by the students, the government directed the university to conduct re-exams for students who appeared for the online proctored tests in February. More than four lakh students took the online exam then.

An official release published by the state government said, "Students who have passed the February test can appear for a retest if they wish. The online exam will be conducted for three hours like in other universities. Exams for next semester also will be held in the same pattern.” Students who are waiting to appear for the Anna University re-exam must note that there is no need to pay the exam fee.

The government also announced that exams for college students, which were stopped due to lockdown, would be conducted from May 25. The release further added, “The announcements will be released by respective universities, and students are requested to prepare for the exams.”
