Bangalore University Final Year Exam 2020: BCom question paper leaked, exam postponed
According to the official schedule, Bangalore University BCom Final Year Exam 2020 was scheduled to be conducted on Monday, i.e. October 12, 2020.
Bangalore University Final Year Exam 2020 Postponed! Bangalore University decided to postpone the BCom Final Year Exam 2020 for ‘Principles and Practice of Auditing’ after the question paper of the said exam got leaked on WhatsApp. According to the official schedule, Bangalore University BCom Final Year Exam 2020 was scheduled to be conducted on Monday, i.e. October 12, 2020. According to the media reports, the paper for the Bangalore University BCom exam was leaked prior to the exam and was widely circulated on social media platforms. It was around 12 PM in the afternoon, nearly 2 hours prior to the start of the examination the reports of leak of question paper emerged. Following these reports, the varsity decided to take immediate remedial action and cancelled the exam on Monday and postponed it.
The reports suggest around 40,000 students from 700 colleges affiliated to the varsity were expected to appear for the examination at 205 exam centers. However, the paper leak incident made the Bangalore University cancel the examination and postpone it to a later date. Following the incident of paper leak, BU vice-chancellor KR Venugopal issued a statement saying ““We have filed a complaint with cybercrime police. We do not know where the leak happened. The question papers are moved to centres as far as Kolar in the morning of the exam day itself. The leak could have happened at anytime. We passed on the information on postponement of exam to sitting squads of all centres by 1 PM."
Students are now stuck due to the cancellation of the examination. Earlier, the University scheduled this paper for September 25, 2020, which got postponed due to the Karnataka bandh. However, this time, the university has hinted that it will announce a revised examination date for the examination soon and will notify the same on its exam portal. This was supposed to be the last exam for undergraduate students, many of whom have been left disappointed.
