The revelation from the accused comes just a day after Chandigarh University in a statement claimed that there was only one 'leaked' clip and that it was a personal video that the accused sent to her boyfriend in Shimla.
Chandigarh University Video Leak Row: Three People, one girl student and two men have been arrested until now in connection with the Chandigarh University video case. The lawyer who was representing the accused has accepted that the video of another girl student was also shot.
The revelation from the accused comes just a day after Chandigarh University in a statement claimed that there was only one 'leaked' clip and that it was a personal video that the accused sent to her boyfriend in Shimla. Many students from the varsity also held a protest alleging that the accused had recorded several objectionable videos of women students in the common washroom. On Monday, the three accused were arrested in the case and have been sent to the police remand for a week.
Ritu Ranot, manager of Chandigarh University Girls Hostel, filed a complaint after some girls approached the authorities about the alleged videos. In the FIR, the hostel manager claimed that the accused had confessed to making objectionable videos of other students.
The hostel manager, in a written complaint to the police on September 17, said that some students had accused the girl of making videos.The hostel manager called the police and the accused was handed over to the police. The police registered an FIR on September 18 under section 354C of IPC and 66 C of IT Act.
As per the FIR, six girls had reported the matter to the hostel warden at 3.00 pm on September 17. The hostel warden then called and informed the matter to the hostel manager over phone. The girls including the accused were called to the manager’s office. When the hostel manager check the mobile phone of the accused, several videos and photos were found to be deleted. At the time when the mobile phone of the accused student was with the manager, calls and messages were being received continuously on the phone, the complainant stated.
The complainant alleged that the calls and messages were from her boyfriend’s number. The hostel manager answered the call and put it on speaker and asked the man to send videos. In response, the man allegedly sent a screenshot to the accused girl’s phone.
The FIR alleged that when the hostel manager questioned the accused student, she accepted making objectionable videos.
