Chandigarh University: Students design 'Queen Belt' to protect women

In one of its kind innovations, a group of five students from Chandigarh University has invented a belt for the purpose of women safety. They have named this device as ‘Queen Belt’ which is meant to protect women from heinous crimes. A few days back they got the patent of this innovative device. Now they are planning to sell it on a commercial basis. It is a unique smart safety belt that detects sexual assault and rape cases automatically. The belt instantly notifies the woman's family and law enforcement agencies.
About the belt
The belt consists of an electronic circuit having a Global Positioning System (GPS) and a mobile SIM card. One can wear it by using a conductive tape beneath the cloth. The device can be accessed only with a four-digit pin. In any untoward event of an assault, the device automatically updates the family members and police by means of an alert message. The belt consists of a chargeable battery having a life of one month.
Modus Operandi of the safety belt
In any unfortunate event, the pre-stored emergency contact obtains the victim's whereabouts transferred through the GPS tracking system, which can be tracked using a mobile app. This device is supposed to help law enforcement agencies in reducing rape cases.
