Maharishi Dayanand University has shut down its campus in order to fights against the spread of coronavirus. The campus has been closed till March 29.

In order to combat the ongoing threat of coronavirus infection, the Maharishi Dayanand University (MDU) has announced that the campus will remain closed from March 21 to March 29, 2020. The decision to shut down the varsity is been taken to fight against the spread of COVID-19 amongst the students, teachers, and staff.

The registrar of the varsity Gulshan Taneja directed all the employees who are residing in the campus to remain inside their respective homes. Without any prior permission, nobody will be allowed to leave the campus.

He also said that during this shut down all the emergency services in the varsity will remain operational. The faculty members will take extra classes once the university is reopened to compensate for the study loss. The non-teaching staff will also compensate by working on 4 Saturdays. Six days will be deducted from the summer vacation given to the faculty members.
