Delhi University likely to go online with admission process from April 2
Delhi University is likely to go fully online with its admission procedure from the academic year 2020-21.
Giving a major relief to parents and students, the Delhi University has announced that from this year onwards, it is planning to make the entire admission process online. If the proposal is accepted during the Academic Council meeting, the admission portal and pre-admission procedure by the university will go online and start from April 2, 2020.
Till now only pre-admission process – form filling, course selection, fee submission among others --- used to be done online. However, if this move is implemented students will be able to complete the whole admission process through online mode.
With this, right after the announcement of the cut-offs, students will be able to select their college, subject, scan their documents and submit the fees online without any hassle. Once the admission procedure is completed, the students will be required to visit the campus for getting the documents verified.
The Delhi University has not only created an admission committee but also, a separate Dean of admissions for the academic year 2020-21 under the leadership of Shobha Bagai. The admission committee includes 15 members and will be headed by Rajiv Gupta, Dean Students’ Welfare (DSW).
As per one of the Delhi University officials, the proposal is set to be submitted and presented at the Academic Council meeting. On the basis of the suggestion and approval given by the committee, it is likely that the only admission process will go online from the academic year 2020-21.
