JMI University has released an official clarification regarding a fake notice circulating on various social media platforms. Stating that the notice is fake, the varsity said that the guidelines mentioned in it are not official.

JMI Reopening Fake News: Jamia Millia Islamia, JMI University has released an official clarification regarding a fake notice circulating on various social media platforms. Stating that the notice is fake, the varsity said that the guidelines mentioned in it are not official.

The fake notice reads, โ€œCiting to the sub-point (v) of point 3 of the notice Gen. 567 released on 14.02.2022, a meeting was conducted with the Dean of the Faculties under the Chairpersonship of Vice-Chancellor and the Chief Proctor, to make decisions on the reopening of the pre-final university classes & conduct of examinations in the physical mode.โ€ The fake notice further claimed that pre-final university classes will be commencing offline from April 1, 2022, and the study break for the same will begin from March 25, 2022. 

โ€œHostlers will be contacted beforehand by the administration to inform them about occupancy status in advance. Make sure to carry a fresh RTPCR report (max of 3 days old) and follow the COVID-19 protocols for your own safety measures," the notice said. 

Jamia Milia Islamia has told its students that the notice issued is fake and none of the guidelines mentioned are valid. The varsity will inform the students themselves through official means of communication regarding any reopening guidelines they tend to issue. 

JMI University will be reopening from March 2, as per the official notice issued by the varsity on February 14, 2022, Monday. From March 2 onwards, offline classes will be resuming for final year postgraduate and final year undergraduate students. The remaining students will resume offline classes from March 15, 2022.
