The GATE 2026 exam dates are OUT, and the official website has finally launched. The GATE 2026 application form will be made available from August 25 onwards. Candidates meeting the GATE 2026 eligibility criteria must check their status before applying. The form will be available online at gate2026.iitg.ac.in only. Check below to get complete details regarding the GATE registration form 2026

 Who is eligible for GATE 2026?

The following applicants are eligible for the GATE 2026 examination -

  • Third year and Fourth year BTech students
  • Candidates who have completed BTech degree 
  • Graduates from any dtream
  • Candidates who have certifications from professional societies can also apply

Applicants can apply for GATE 2026 on the dates prescribed by the conducting authority. Aspirants can check the GATE 2026 application form release and closing date below-

 How to apply for GATE 2026?

Candidates can fill out the form online only on official website of GATE 2026. The website has a separate portal for GATE-related activities, which is GOAPS portal. Before filling out the form, look for GATE 2026 eligibility and go through instructions prescribed by the authorities. Check process below -

  • Visit the official website - gate2026.iitg.ac.in
  • Head to the application portal link and select the “New Candidate Registration Link”
  • Provide the mentioned details, such as name, mobile number, email address, etc. and submit.
  • Once submitted, candidates will receive an enrollment ID and password on their registered number and email ID.
  • Now, visit the portal again and log in using the credentials.
  • Fill out the details carefully
  • After that, upload documents as per the specifications and proceed to the fee payment.
  • Pay the fees as per the category and accept the declaration form.
  • Finally, hit the submit button and print out copies for future reference.

Q:   Is admission open at IIT Guwahati?

Yes, admission is open at IIT Guwahati. The admission is closed for MBA and M.Tech programmes. the admission to BTech is open for 2026. Candidates interested for BTEch programmes should qualify JEE Mains and JEE Advance to get admission in the B.Tech programme at IIT Guwahati.

The highest GATE cutoff score for NIT M.Tech admission typically ranges from 800 to 850 in the first round. Some of the top NITs include NIT Surathkal, NIT Trichy, and NIT Warangal, accept admissions with GATE score 800 above for branches like EC, CS, ME, and EE.

Qualified candidates have to register at the CCMT portal to participate in the GATE counselling. The counselling process will begin in June/July.

 GATE 2026 Exam Dates

The GATE exam 2026 will be held in two sessions: Forenoon (9:30 am to 12:30 pm) and Afternoon (2:30 pm to 5:30 pm). The GATE 2026 exam dates are February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026.
